TeleConsole Notifications

Notifications are pop-up windows and other types of informative alerts about incoming or missed calls, messages, voicemails, and faxes. Notifications are also accompanied by sounds and audio cues. They allow you to keep on top of your TeleConsole communication even when you switch your computer or smart device to other programs, applications, or web pages. 


For notifications to work you need to login to your TeleConnsole account and have it open and running in the background.


There are three types of notifications available for the TeleConsole desktop (web) version - browser tabs notifications, browser notifications, and CRM Pointer notifications. Website and browser notifications will work on any operating system. CRM pointer notifications only work on Windows.


The TeleConsole mobile version has its own iOS or Android notifications.   


Browser Tab Notifications

This is the most basic type of notification. With the TeleConsole web interface you will see a flashing red disc next to the name of the tab. A ringing sound will also be played. This works only for incoming calls. If you have many tabs open the Telebroad website icon itself will change to the flashing red disc.


To see this notification your browser need to be open and be visible with the tab containing the TeleConsole page. If you have any other program filling the screen or even a different browser window you will not be able to see it.  You are able to hear the ringing regardless of what program or browser window you are looking at, as long as your speakers are not muted. 



For all other communications other than incoming calls a speaker icon will flash once with and a short audio cue will be played.


Browser Notifications


Browser Notifications appears as both pop-up windows and Action Center notifications (Windows) or Notification Center messages (Mac OS). 


For Browser Notifications to work they need to be activated first as explained here.


Pop-up call related notifications offer direct interaction, allowing you to IGNORE, ANSWER, or FORWARD the call.

Other notifications are merely clickable, which will just take you to the TeleConsole's message area where you can quickly access the relevant message.

If you have been away from your computer and missed the notifications you can still see them listed in the Action Center or Notification Center.


On a Windows computer click the Action Center icon in the task bar (which is usually at the bottom of the screen) to access them.


On a Mac computer click the Notification Center icon in the upper right corner of your Mac's menu bar.

 


CRM Pointer Notifications


Telebroad's CRM Pointer is Windows plugin that provides additional notification functionality. It needs to be installed separately. Installation and usage instructions are available here.


An advantage of CRM pointer notifications over Browser Notifications is a Open URL button gives for an instant web search about the phone number of the caller.



Another one is that you can make a selection in the CRM pointer to alert you only on Incoming calls or Outgoing calls. Of course you know when you make outgoing calls, but this setting is useful when automatic answering is enabled - a setting that creates a mini-conference call.
