- Features and Guides of the New Version
The TeleConsole web version has been updated and modernized. It now has the same interface and additional features as the Windows/macOS versions.
Since the interface is identical to the Windows/macOS versions, we have not created separate user guides for the new version. Instead, this article has links (see below) to the relevant features and guides of the Windows/macOS versions.
Main Differences and Advantages
The new version introduces a global search feature, adds an Office 365 (Microsoft) sign-in option, combines the call history and the keypad into one screen, moves text messages/voicemails/faxes/and chats into separate screens, adds a team chat option, includes a SPAM blocking option, and automatically transcribe voicemails.
The legacy version's main advantage is that it still has access to more settings. It can help the advanced user or administrator change voicemail greetings and PIN, activate call screening and call waiting, enable an option to receive voicemail as an email attachment or with a call, and set up speed dialing and BLF monitoring. It also has a call availability status indicator that the new version lacks (the new version does have a chat availability indicator.)
Web Client Permissions for Microphone/Sound
Another thing to note about the web version is that you may need to provide microphone/sound permission for the web page running the TeleConsole. These should be applied automatically or the web page should ask you to allow these.
If you are still having issues with the microphone or speaker, on most browsers you can click the padlock icon next to the address bar and check the permissions from there.
Access
The new version will now open by default when you access it from the Telebroad's home page (under Login>TeleConsole) or directly at https://app.telebroad.com/
To access the legacy version do one of the following:
- Go to https://legacy.app.telebroad.com/#/login on your web browser.
- After signing in to the new version select the LE button and answer the prompt asking you to describe the reason for the switch.
To switch back to the new version do one of the following:
- Go to https://app.telebroad.com/?legacy=false on your web browser.
- Click the red banner at the top of the legacy version.
Sign In and Password Reset
Both versions allow you to use your Telebroad account or a Google account to sign in. The new version also allows you to use Office 365 (Mircosoft credentials) to sign in.
For more information on password reset see these articles – new version, legacy version.
Password Reset From the Sign-In Screen
Password reset is available on the sign-in screen of both versions. For the legacy version you can also recover your username (if it is different than your email.)
Remember that changing the password for Google or Office 365 will affect your entire Google/Microsoft accounts and not just your Telebroad account! You will need to sign in with the new password you create to any Google/Microsoft you use
Password Reset From the Account Menu
If you already signed in to your account you can change your password:
Legacy version: Click the account menu ( ) and select Profile. You can enter the new password here. The change will take effect immediately.
New Version: Click the icon with the initial of your name at the top of the screen ( for example) to access your account and select Edit Profile>RESET MY PASSWORD. For added security, you will be emailed a reset code that you need to enter in the password reset screen that will open.
Features and Guides of the New Version
Following is a breakdown and links to user guides of the Windows/macOS versions directly relating to the new version (relevant legacy version user guides are also linked for reference where applicable):
Settings: As mentioned above the legacy version actually has more settings (read about it here) for advanced users or administrators. However, the new version has notification settings for the Team Chat feature.
Account (Profile/DND/Queues) and Sound & Devices Quick Menu:
- The account screen of the new version is rather similar to the legacy version except that the forwarding and lines (channels) are now found on the settings screen of the new version.
- The sound and devices menu of the new version lets you select input/output devices for making or receiving calls – microphone, speaker/headset, and a video camera. There is no comparable feature for the legacy version, but you can just use your PC's operating system settings to achieve the same result.
Global Search: The new version's global search feature allows you to look for numbers and keywords across all your contacts, phone call logs, conversations, faxes, voicemails, etc.
The legacy version's search feature, on the other hand, is not global! The Messages (texts, faxes, voicemails), call logs, and contacts screens each has its own search tab showing results relevant only to itself. Searching the contacts screen for a phone number, for example, will not return results from the call logs records.
Contacts: The new version's Contact screen has been simplified and it does not have agents type contacts or the availability status of the legacy version. It does, however, add support for Google contacts.
The Calls Screen – Calls Log: The new version combines the calls log and keypad into one screen, but otherwise the calls log works the same as the legacy version.
The Calls Screen – Active Calls and Conference/Call Options: The active calls screen of the new version lacks the queue and recent calls feature of the legacy version, but it offers improved call options including a smart transfer and advanced call conferencing.
The local call recording does appear as an option but is only supported in the Windows/macOS versions.
The Calls Screen – Keypad, Make/Receive Calls, Voicemail Access and Options: For making calls, the keypad works similarly on both versions. There is also not much difference for received calls except that the new version offers more control of the call notification pop-up window. Currently, the one advantage of the legacy version is that it allows you to hide your caller ID.
Messages (SMS/MMS) and Conversations: The main difference from the legacy version is that the new version breaks the SMS/MMS and the chat functions into two separate screens. The chat function is now under the Team Chat screen and is much more advanced. The new version also adds SPAM blocking and SMS signature functions.
Faxes – Sending, Status, Content, and Options: Compared to the legacy version, the new version added a cover page option, delivery status indication, option to resend faxes that failed to deliver, and improved printing and downloading.
Voicemail Playback, Filtering, and Options: Both versions are rather similar, except that the new version adds voicemail transcriptions. See the legacy version here.
Team Chat: This is probably the biggest addition to the new version. The legacy version does have a user-to-user chat, but it doesn't have an option to message a group of users.
