Using Your Phone as an Intercom

Intercom is a useful feature in an office environment to quickly connect with a specific contact or an operator. The recipient's phone will answer the call automatically if the recipient is not already on another call.

Intercom functionality is also possible by using Telebroad's intercom dial code.

It allows you to press the intercom key to automatically connect with a preconfigured target extension for outgoing intercom calls. The target extension will automatically answer incoming intercom calls by default.

By default, the receiving phone automatically plays a warning tone when when receiving an intercom call. This feature can be disabled if you require so.

In addition, two other features can be enabled or disabled:

  • Intercom Mute (disabled by default) - the feature mutes the recipient phone's microphone when it automatically accepts an intercom call.

  • Intercom Barge (disabled by default) - the feature places an active call on hold on the recipient phone when an intercom call is automatically accepted. If the feature is disabled, an intercom call will be handled like a waiting call.
