W73P/76P/78P – Redialing Recent Numbers and Speed Dial


Use the call redialing or speed dialing features of the W73H, 56P, and 78H handsets to reach contacts more quickly.


Redialing Calls


Dialing Recent Numbers


You can redial the recent number you called or redial a number from the redial list that stores the last twenty phone numbers you called.

When the redial list becomes full, the handset will automatically erase the oldest number on the list when a new number is dialed.


To redial the last number:


  • Press twice when the handset is idle to place a call to the last number you dialed.

Using the redial list:


  • Press once when the handset is idle to access the redial list.

  • Select a record from the list and press    to dial out.
  • You can select Options>Edit Bofoore Call to edit an external phone number before calling.

Managing the Redial List


You can add an external number from the dial list to the local directory or update the number for an existing contact. You can also delete records from the redial list.

You can add a dialed number from the redial list to the local directory or update the number for an existing contact.


To add a dialed number to the local directory:


  • Press    when the handset is idle to access the redial list.

  • Highlight the desired record.

  • Press Options and select Add To Local>New Entry.

    You can also select Add To Local>Update Existing to add the number to an existing contact or update the existing contact information.

  • Edit the contact's information fields as needed.

  • Press Save to confirm the action.

To delete records from the redial list:


  • Press     when the handset is idle to access the redial list.

  • Do one of the following:

    • To delete all records select Options>Delete All.

    • Highlight a desired record.

      Press Options and select Delete.

  • Select Yes to confirm the action.

Speed Dial


With the speed dial feature you can quickly dial pre-assigned numbers you use frequently.

Once you have assigned a speed dial number to one of the numeric digits keys (2-9 are available to use), you simply long-press the key to dial the number.


Assigning a Speed Dial Number


You can assign up to eight speed dial numbers from the 2-9 digits keys (the numeric 1 digit key is reserved for voicemail fast access as explained here.) 


A speed dial number can be assigned by entering it or by selecting an existing number from the directory.


To assign a speed dial number:


  • Press    to enter the main menu and select the Settings option (  on the 73H/78H or    on the 56H).

  • Select Telephony>Speed Dial to display all available speed dial keys.

  • Highlight the desired key and press Assign.

  • Do one of the following:

    • Select Directory and select the desired contact from the directory

    • Select Edit to enter or customize the name and number of the speed dial key.

  • Press OK to assign the number to the selected speed dial key.

  • If the selected contact has multiple numbers, select the desired number, and select OK.

Changing or Deleting a Speed Dial Number


After a speed dial key has been assigned you can change it to a different number or delete it (remove the name and number assigned to it).


To change or delete a speed dial key:

  • Press    to enter the main menu and select the Settings option (  on the 73H/78H or    on the 56H).

  • Select Telephony>Speed Dial.

  • Highlight an assigned speed dial key.

  • Do one of the following:

    • Select Options>Change and select a new number from the Directory or select Edit and edit the Name and Number fields.

    • Select Options>Clear Key to delete the assigned name and number.
