SIP Telephones Buying Guides (Corded, Cordless, and Conference)

Telebroad offers Poly and Yealink corded SIP phones and Yealink cordless SIP phones. We also sell conference SIP phones by Poly and Yealink.

We have presently stopped selling Cisco SIP telephones. Any information about Cisco telephones we provide is intended for informative purposes only. We still provide full support for Cisco telephones purchased from us.

We also offer a wide range of telephone accessories  headsets, mounting brackets, ATA adapters, replacement handsets, and Wi-Fi/Bluetooth adapters.

The name of each phone model in the following tables links to its relevant user guides. We also have user guides for older/discontinued models.

Corded SIP Phones

All Telebroad's recommended phones are PoE compatible meaning they are powered by the Ethernet cable that also provides network connectivity. A separate power supply, with the listed voltage, is needed if your network does not support this technology or if you connect over Wi-Fi without a network cable. You can also use a PoE injector/adaptor to power the phone.

Yealink

Yealink phones allow for multiple accounts to be registered on the same phone. Only one account can actually be active at any given time, but the multiple registrations allow users to easily switch between phone numbers/accounts instead of having to log out/log in to a different account every time they need to switch numbers.

VVX phones support a local 3-way audio conferencing, meaning two participants can join you in a conference. A network conference can possibly increase the number of participants.

For replacement handsets for your existing telephones click here.

USB Wi-Fi adaptor:  The Yealink WF40 and Yealink WF50 Wi-Fi USB dongles can connect your Yealink SIP phone to an existing wireless network. The plug-and-play device is a convenient solution for offices with a Wi-Fi only network or for phones that are too far from an Ethernet port. Note that the WF40 model only supports the 2.4GHz frequency!

Bluetooth adaptor: The Yealink BT-41 dongle adds Bluetooth functionality to your Yealink SIP phone and enables it to connect to a wide variety of Bluetooth Headsets.

ATA adaptor: Analog Telephone Adaptor is a device that connects traditional analog telephones and fax machines to a VoIP network. You may want to buy one if you have some standard telephony equipment that works well for what it does but you want to use it with your VoIP network. In other words, ATA allows you to avoid having to operate and maintain two networks – standard and VoIP. You can read more about it here

Cordless SIP Phones

Cordless SIP phones (that work with a VoIP network) offer the convenience of being able to step away from your desk. They are a good choice for people who prefer talking into a handset over using wireless headsets.

Cordless phones are also known as DECT phones. DECT stands for Digital Enhanced Cordless Technology. The DECT technology allows wireless connection between the handset and a base station that provides the SIP connectivity.

The talk range between handsets and the base station can be extended with a repeater or with a multi-cell configuration. The latter requires a DECT manager station that additional base stations connect to. Repeaters and additional base stations can also circumvent thick walls and other obstructions to help with indoor reception issues.

When setting up cordless phones, in most cases you would want a separate phone number for each handset, but there is also an option to share numbers among several workers.

The W59R phone is dust resistant, water resistant (can withstand 3.3 feet submersion for 30 minutes), and shock resistant (can withstand falls from 8.2 feet).

** A quick charge feature provides 2 hours of talk time in ten minutes.

*** The W80/W90 can be bought or configured as either a DECT manager or a base station. For range extension, the system needs to be set up in a multi-cell configuration with one W80DM or W90DM (DECT manager) supporting up to thirty W80B or sixty W90B base stations. The W90 can also be deployed in VIM (virtual integration manager) configuration where ten W90DM units can support up to 600 base stations!

If you use the W59R with W60 or W70 base stations you can use the RT30 repeater for range extension.

Conference Phones

Selecting a conference telephone largely depends on the size of the space where it will be used. In the following tables this is indicated by both the room size and microphone radius specifications. On most models, larger rooms can be accommodated by external microphones (bought separately) that enhance the reception range.
