Yealink W73P/76P/78P – Conference Calls

Types of Conference Calls

You can create a conference call on the W73H/56H/78H handset with a local conference function or a network conference function. The latter lets you exceed the three participants limit.

A Network conference URL needs to be set up in advance using the web user interface. Speak to your phone system administrator about this and about using a network conference if the local conference is not sufficient for you.

Local Conference

You can create a conference with two other parties by calling them or by connecting an active call and a call on hold.

To set up a local conference call by calling two other parties:

  • Place a call to the first party.

  • Press the Options soft key and select Conference.

  • The active call is placed on hold.

  • Do one of the following:

    • Enter the number of the second party.

    • Press the Directory soft key and select the desired contact.

(If more than one number is stored for a contact, select the desired number.)

  • Press  ,    , or the Conf. soft key to dial out.

  • When the second party answers the call press the Conf. soft key to establish the conference.

To join an active and held calls to a conference:

  • Place two calls by making a call, putting it on hold, and making a second call.

  • Press the Options soft key and select Conference.

  • The two calls are joined into a conference with you..

Conference Options

While the conference is in progress you have the following options available (these also apply to network conferences):

  • You can press the Mute button ()  to mute the conference. When you do so the other participants can hear each other but cannot hear you. Press the Mute button again to unmute the conference.

  • You can place the conference on hold by pressing the Options soft key and selecting Hold. When you place a conference call on hold, other participants cannot hear each other.

Resume the conference by selecting Resume.

  • Select Split to end the conference and split it into individual held calls.

  • End the conference call by pressing   or the End soft key.

If any other party in the conference ends the call, the remaining parties stay connected.

Network Conference

If your system administrator has enabled a network conference feature, you can initiate a conference with multiple parties.

To set up a network conference call:

  • Place a call to the first party.

  • Press the Options soft key, and then select Conference.

The active call is placed on hold.

  • Do one of the following:

    • Enter the number of the second party.

Press the Directory soft key and select the desired contact.

(If more than one number is stored for a contact, select the desired number.)

  • Press   ,  , or the Conf. soft key to dial out.

  • When the second party answers the call press the Conf. soft key again to add the new party to the conference.

  • Press the Conf soft key again and repeat the previous three steps until you add all intended parties.

  • Conference options work the same just like in a local conference (see above.)
