You can mute the active call so other parties can't hear you. This works for both regular calls and conference calls (in conference calls you can also mute individuals. See the conference call management options.)
To mute the active call do one of the following:
- Select the Mute (
) option.
(Note that the mute option icon also indicates the current state of the microphone. Therefore, while the physical mute keys are marked as
to indicate their function, the mute option icon is marked as when the microphone is active!) - Press the Mute key on the phone below the screen.
Or press the Mute key below either of the microphones/Speakers (this is not available on the Trio 8300.)
- The mute key(s) glow red and on phones with color display the mute icon changes to red.
To unmute the active call simply press or select the same keys/option (note that the mute option icon appears as while the microphone is muted.)
