Yealink W59R – Conference Call

You can create a conference call on the W59R phone using either a local conference function or a network conference function. The later lets you exceed the phone's three participants limit.

A Network conference URL needs to be setup in advance using the web user interface. Speak to your phone system administrator about this and about using a network conference if the local conference is not sufficient for you.

Local Conference

You can create a conference by dialing two other parties or you can create a conference between an active call and a call on hold.

To set up a local conference call with two external parties:

  • Place a call to the first party.

  • Press the Options soft key, and then select Conference.

The active call is placed on hold.

  • Enter the number of the second party and press     or    to dial out.

When the second party answers the call press the Conf soft key to to create the conference between the two parties and yourself.

To join two calls in a conference via the handset:

  • Place two calls on the handset.

  • Select the desired call and make sure the call is active.

  • Press the Options soft key, and then select Conference.

  • The two calls are joined in the conference.

Conference Options

While the conference is in progress you have the following options (these also apply to network conference):

  • You can press (mute key) to mute the conference. When you do so the other participants can hear each other but cannot hear you. Press the mute key again to unmute the conference.

  • You can place the conference on hold by pressing the Options soft key and selecting Hold. Resume the conference by selecting  Resume.

  • End the conference call by pressing    or the End soft key.

If any other party in the conference ends the call, the remaining parties stay connected.

Network Conference

If your system administrator has set up a network conference feature on your phone, you can initiate a conference with multiple parties.

To set up a network conference call:

  • Place a call to the first party.

  • Press the Options soft key, and then select Conference.

The active call is placed on hold.

  • Enter the number of the next party and press     or    to dial out.

  •  When the next party answers press the Conf soft key again to add the new party to the conference.

  • Press the Conf soft key again and repeat the previous two steps until you add all intended parties.

  • Conference options work the same just like in local conference (see above.)
